Fuel economy is certainly important, whether you’re going with a luxury vehicle or not. Who wants to spend more than absolutely necessary at the gas station? Thanks to the fuel economy capabilities of the 2018 Acura TLX, you won’t have to. With two powertrains to choose from, and different setups to optimize efficiency, you truly have control over the mpg ratings you’ll achieve when you hit the road behind the wheel of the newest TLX. Allow Acura of Ocean to provide you with more information!

2.4L Inline-4

At the start of the 2018 Acura TLX lineup is a 2.4L inline-4 engine. This model boasts an eight-speed automatic transmission with dual-clutch technology, steering wheel paddle shifters, and front-wheel drive Precision All-Wheel Steer. These systems work together to propel the TLX to an EPA-estimated 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway*. Given that this powertrain setup generates an impressive 206 hp, these MPG ratings are certainly noteworthy.

3.5L V6

Upgrade to the 3.5L V6 engine for more power, but just as efficient fuel economy ratings as its predecessor. All 2018 Acura TLX models with this powertrain also have a nine-speed push-button automatic transmission. This system works together to put out 290 hp, and accomplish an EPA-estimated 20 mpg city and 32 mpg highway*. If you go with the TLX A-SPEC version, you’ll receive 30 mpg highway*. With this engine, you can also opt for Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), which results in an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway*. Again, the A-SPEC model lowers mpg ratings to 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway*. No matter which version of the TLX you select, then, you’re guaranteed highly impressive fuel economy returns.
